Engraving fake trilobite fossils onto roadside pebbles with a laser cutter
A micro-experiment using an accessible laser cutter to engrave fictional prehistoric organisms onto ordinary pebbles.
Finding a relatively flat surface on a stone, I lightly laser-etched the fossilized relief of an invented creature: a "drill-head trilobite".
When placed quietly back near roadside planters or walkway edges, the engraved stone blends in so naturally that it introduces a strange, surprisingly convincing alternate reality into everyday pavement.
